The Trinity United Church Junior Youth (JY) Ministry was set up to cater to the needs of young members between the ages of 14 and 19. The motto for JY is, “Show yourself approved of God” (2 Timothy 2:15) with members responding to the greeting, JY, with the following responses:
Response 1: “For Christ”
Response 2: “Movers and shakers for Christ”
The Ministry aims to:
Train its members to grow in wisdom, stature and in favour with God and man (Luke 2:52);
Administer a holistic ministry to the young people by giving equal and adequate attention to the spiritual, cognitive, physical and socio-emotional aspects of life;
Promote the exchange of ideas and fellowship with other teenage groups in other Traditional and Pentecostal/Charismatic Churches, and give these younger ones the opportunity to explore and unearth their God-given gifts and talents through the conduction of their service and leadership, under the guidance and direction of the Junior Youth Pastor and supported by volunteer teachers.
In addition to regular sermons and talks, the JY usually organises programmes such as:
Teen Talk- An interactive talk with Resource Persons from the Church on issues like managing finances, sexualimmorality, career development;
Bible Study and Quiz;
Community Evangelism;
Activity Day- Any fun and educative activity;
Chocolate Talk (Valentine);
Career and Development Day, and
Prayer Services
The JY services are held on Sundays from 9:30 am to 11:30 am.
